Lot (the “App”) is the sole and exclusive property of its creators, Vincent Rasse and Marley Barrett (the “Creators”). It was conceived, designed, and built entirely on the Creators' own personal time, using the Creators' own personal resources — including their own hardware, software licenses, cloud hosting, and third-party service accounts.

The App was not created as part of any employment, research assistantship, fellowship, or other engagement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the University of Wisconsin–Madison, ETH Zurich, any laboratory or department of any of those institutions, or any principal investigator or research group. No funding, equipment, facilities, software licenses, or paid working hours from any of these institutions were used in its creation — the App was built entirely on the Creators' own time, with their own resources, independent of their respective studies and research positions. Where a lab affiliated with any of these institutions uses the App, that use is solely as a customer of a tool the Creators independently built and chose to make available — the same relationship a lab has with any third-party software product.

The App is not developed, sponsored, endorsed, or officially supported by MIT, the University of Wisconsin–Madison, ETH Zurich, or any of their departments, labs, or personnel. Room names, cabinet labels, and other lab-specific text appearing within a given deployment's data were entered by that deployment's own users and do not imply institutional affiliation or endorsement.

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Creators do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to use of the App — including reliance on any chemical, hazard, or storage-suitability information it displays. The App is a record-keeping aid, not a substitute for your institution's own chemical safety, hazard communication, or EHS policies and procedures.

Data entered into the App (inventory records, photographs, and account information) is stored to operate the App for the labs that use it, and is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

This notice may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the update.
